The album comes after a series of successful EPs that included the songs “Timbo” (over 400,000 views on YouTube), “Indian Girl” (one BBC1 radio host DJ Nihal’s “favourite tracks of 2011″), and “Aggranation” (featured on Giles Peterson’s weekly record swap).

How Rude features collaborations with Tom HIngley of Inspiral Carpets, the late Colin Cooper of Climax Blues Band, and Unsub, NewZealand’s rising dubstep phenom. Fans of Thievery Corporation, Glitch Mob, and Jazzanova will appreciate the seamless blending of genres, while young fans will recognize the influence of dubstep on the album.

Deep basslines blend with catchy, quirky melodies and house sensibility on the Aphrodite EP.  Nikos is know in Greece for his work designing sound for art installations and in film. He’s paired up with pioneer of the Greek underground scene Mikele this year on a few projects including “Mega D” off this release.

We love Nikos for a lot of reasons: he’s great to work with, he has a singing fish in his house, and he loves to adopt dogs that need a good home.

Medicine is the pair’s first release on Thoughtless, and it’s full of strange sounds, creepy vocals, and general all around deepness. If you’ve ever been on a dancefloor at 6am when a track came on that made everybody go ‘what the frizizzle?’ and then walking into the walls and each other like sleepy zombies on mescaline, then you have an idea what this is about.

The title track gets a couple of remixes that are more peak-hour friendly by Betron Brut and Dactillar, but the original cut, along with Phantom Ambulance’s “Fabulous” really deserve the spotlight here.

Tubular Bass heralds the next phase of the up-and-coming dubstep producer’s career, with savvy arrangements, ear piercing synths, and a raw, almost punk rock attitude that will appeal to fans of Rusko, Benga, and Flux Pavilion.

“’Tubular Bass’ is my vision of Michael Oldfield’s classic, ‘Tubular Bells’, and ‘Packapunch’ is a jazzy number with some added crunch,” Cottonmouth says of his latest release.
