Indian Girl Remixed

Following the international success of The Love Theme’s second single, “Indian Girl,” a diverse album of remixes is available on Permanent Damage Records.

After achieving the number one spot on YouTube’s music videos, positive reviews in IDJ magazine, air time on BPM TV, and rotation on BBC Radio, the seven remixes were offered as free downloads for one week each before going back into the vault for safekeeping.

“The Love Theme’s EP One has received an overwhelming response from all over the globe, and we wanted a set of remixes that represented this diversity,” says PDR boss Ben Cooper. “We thought that offering each of the remixes for a limited time was a good way to say thanks to the people that have supported us so far.”

The album starts with a reggae-infused mix from Dominic Owen, a multiplatinum selling producer who has worked with Biggie Smalls, Lil Kim,and Charlie Sloth.

Cottonmouth follows up with a screaming dubstep mix straight from the UK.  As a prelude to his upcoming solo release coming on Permanent Damage, Cottonmouth has taken dubstep by storm with his remixes of Metallica and Lady Gaga landing him in the top ten most popular songs on Soundcloud.com Australia’s Gunja Brothers get in on the fun, with their smoked out reggae mix “Indian Kush” taking Indian Girl on the red-eye express to Bongsville. Later this summer, the brothers (who smoke with your mothers) will have their own release on Permanent Damage Records.

London’s Sizzlebird takes things to a sophisticated level with a drum ‘n’ bass remix that showcases the producer’s musical knowledge. A classical violin prodigy, Sizzlebird has put that focus on electronic music and is becoming an accomplished producer.
The First Lady of Dubstep, AlexisK puts her spin on Indian Girl using a subtle reconfiguration of the original strings and vocals beneath her signature melodic style. AlexisK continues to impress following her debut EP Death Of Everything Cool on Permanent Damage, which was aired on BBC Radio and earned praise in DJ Magazine.

Operative hops aboard the dubstep train and with a dirty bass and takes the Indian Girl into overdrive. Hailing from the land down under, Operative plans to release more material in 2011.

Closing out the album is a four-on-the-floor house mix from the mysterious Thundercakes, Bermudian born and now residing in Toronto. Warping the vocals and layering on a heavy kick, the mix puts on its dancing shows and takes the Indian Girl to the disco.

Indian Girl was featured on The Love Theme’s debut EP One, composed by Dominic Owen. Featuring two YouTube #1 videos, One is available on iTunes, Beatport, Amazon Music and other online stores. The Love Theme will release a series of EPs with Permanent Damage Records in 2010 and 2011.
