riccicomoto out there part 2
Picking up on the success of his last EP, Out There – Part 1, Germany’s riccicomoto brings to us a deeper, dubbier style of house stamped with his signature sound.
riccicomoto is a longtime regular on the European circuit with a devoted following, earned by his releases on Irma Records, Summer Rain, and his weekly program audioselfdefense on Ibiza Global Radio. After teaming up with Permanent Damage Records, Out There – Part One 1 received international praise, including support from Laurent Garnier, Coldcut, BBC 1xtra, Ministry of Sound radio, Beats & Beyond, DJ Chris Baily, and Pro Mobile Magazine.
Out There – Part 2 opens with “Assimilatione (Empire Cannibal Dub),” a deep tech-house track coated with a thick layer of reverb that DJs can use in the middle of a set for maximum spaciness, or at end of the night to give people a proper goodbye.
“Quasar (tango control dub)” – reflects deeply on riccicomoto’s trademark pads and samples pulled in from the Andromeda galaxy. As the deep chords continue to evolve through the song, additional layers are added and taken away, creating the EP’s most ethereal song.
“Sono Vero (Disco Futura Dub)” speeds things up a notch with a driving and hypnotic bassline. Again, dub inspired chords reverb and echo across the track, which builds to a subtle climax.
Closing out with “Starfield (Humility Dub Session),” riccicomoto uses discordant bells and a touch of jazz organ to punctuate one final dive beneath the surface of the ocean that necessitates an oxygen tank and wetsuit.
As well as his EPs on Permanent Damage Records, 2010 has seen riccocomoto put material out on Irma Records and Epoque Music, as well as reprising his Ibiza Global Radio for another summer season. For riccicomotos’ complete bio and more information, visit www.riccicomoto.de
